The tale of 2 minds

I watched "Rockstar" and the this post is about what I saw in the movie. This is not review of it to advice people whether to watch it or not. I will neither comment on Ranbir's acting nor Nargis beauty or Rehmans music. And also this post is as 'boring' and 'brainy' as the movie is.

Just to begin with in general what I always believe is that poetry, painting, music or any such art forms can be done/performed by the artist to his ability and then its up to the audience to perceive to their ability and imagination. Even the creator of that art may not have seen in the way the audience sees and the creator would have imagined in some other way will building it.. If an individual dont enjoy that artform its not that as a person he lacks the imagination, its just that his taste is different.

The Rockstar is such a poetry to me. It has music and beauty intervened together to portray something special. From movie point of view the title was misnomer, and if you are wondering about the title of this blog, I will probably come to that.
As I see Jordan ( the lead ) meets Heer ( the lady) and she becomes the muse for him. He is completely overtaken by her 'jungli jawani' behaviour, it brings out the artist in him unknowingly. As said in the movie you need some pain to get the artist or I would say you should see enough world to create an artist you. And its only when you see the world outside the one inside tells you more things. Inside you will be seen with the silence which is in some parts of the movie tell you. There is a line in the song : " mujko mujse azad karo", superbly said and the music puts a cream on it. Then there is the part of him which does not seek to be bound by any rules or restrictions. This comes in to light as the lady moves away due to marriage. This is the violent part of him, seeking 'freedom' searching for the 'parinde'. His meeting of the Hera reignites the passion on him. The hugs, kisses and even their getting together in the last just emphasizes ' a new world' in themselves. The world with no limitations.

The other mind in this movie is that of the Heer the one who shows the way to the new world for Jordan, but fails to join him. She is the energy for the Jordan, but lacks herself. (She remainded me of the one in Lord of Rings.) Heer is the embodiment of the new world, the desires, the no-boundaries. She drives Jordan mind everywhere, sometimes as she says crossing the line but never joins Jordan completely. Always complicating the things around her, unsure of what is right. The love story atleast for me is never that of romance as in DDLJ or any other ones, but one of its own kind. They both represent the goal each other wants to attain but never having the courage to do it. Jordan while resents to violence, while she feels sick of not having him.

The end as mentioned in the beginning of the movie itself is wonderful:
" Door bahut door ek maidan hai jahan pe hum milenge"
